Our History
- Founded in 1929, Bonners Removals of Welling was originally a family removal company servicing the local community.
- After building an enviable reputation for quality over almost forty years, Dorees Removals purchased Bonners Removals of Welling and Harrison, Lennon and Hoy, two other local family run companies, which in turn had been set up more than 60 years earlier.
- This resulted in the creation of The Doree Bonner International Group, a company which quickly became one of the leading lights in such organisations as B.A.R., (British Association of Removers), and is presently among the 15 largest removers in the U.K.
- The Doree Bonner International Group was established in 1994 and has been wholly owned since 1994 by Kelerbay Ltd. Its directors, Geoff Watson and Gordon Lyall, have worked in the removals industry since 1979 and 1983 respectively and both were previously directors with the world's largest removal company.
- In 1996, Doree Bonner International London was awarded the IS09002 Certification. Receiving ISO Certification for its Office & Commercial removals, a major achievement reflecting the high standards maintained by the company in all aspects of its service.
- In 1997 Kelerbay Ltd acquired a family managed business based in Swindon with a satellite branch in Bath. While enjoying an excellent local reputation similar to that of other companies in the Group, this business had suffered somewhat as a result of under investment. It is now highly successful and fully integrated into the Group.
- At the start of 1998, Kelerbay Ltd acquired Dymocks, a removals business based in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire. Again this business enjoys an excellent reputation and had huge potential for future growth as a member of the Group.
- In July 1999, Kelerbay Ltd expanded further with the acquisition of Jordan & Jarrett, a family managed business based in Canterbury. The company is considered to be the premier mover in East Kent and enjoys a reputation second to none. The acquisition of this business sees the Group's services now stretch across the South of England.
- The year 2000 saw Doree Bonner International, London relocate to a brand new "Design & Build" facility boating 75000 square feet of containerised storage with the most up-to-date security systems.
- In July 2001, Kelerbay Ltd acquired the two leading removal companies in High
Wycombe.
- Gardner’s established in 1854 is a household name in the area and to this day enjoys an excellent reputation.
- A&SG James was acquired as it was an extremely modern company, growing extremely quickly and gaining an enviable reputation for a first class service. It also contrasted the acquisition of Gardner’s.
- July 2002 saw Kelerbay put into place the first part of its Northern expansion
plans. Express Removals of Glasgow was acquired. Express, a family owned business with an enviable reputation boasts the best removals and storage facility in Scotland and is an excellent stepping stone for further expansion in Scotland and the North of England.
- September 2002 was an exciting month for Dymocks as they moved their whole
operation to a brand new property specifically built to our own specification. It boasts state of the art security systems and a capacity to store 1400 industry standard wooden containers.
